PB Soar, for the excellence

In November of 2013, in honor of Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel Company’s 100th Anniversary, the McGeorge family pledged $1 million towards starting an after-school program modeled after Keith Jackson’s P.A.R.K.  program in Little Rock.  Now known as Students of Achievement and Responsibility (SOAR), our program’s mission is to empower and equip students spiritually, academically and socially with the opportunity to excel.

As a non-profit 501 C3, SOAR works with students who have high academic potential, but for various reasons perform poorly in the classroom. Students in this category are at a greater risk of never reaching their full potential due to lack of motivation, direction or support.  SOAR steps in to help these students by coordinating with school counselors and teachers to enhance their development in the classroom and work with them to help them rise to their full potential.  We believe through focusing on achievement in the classroom and character building through a Christian foundation, each student has the potential to SOAR!
